A convincing answer is not always the supported answer. Practise checking exactly what a notice says—including dates, conditions and exceptions—before you choose.
A quick three-step reading method
- Read the question first. Identify the detail you need, such as a date, change or reason.
- Find the matching sentence. Read the sentence before and after it so you do not miss a condition.
- Check every option against the passage. Reject an option if it changes a time, person or scope word, even if the rest sounds familiar.
Try one original sample question
The Riverside Library will open at 9 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. on weekdays beginning November 4. Saturday hours will not change. Visitors who reserved a study room for the first week of November do not need to book again.
What changes on November 4?

A is supported. The first sentence changes the weekday opening time from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday hours are unchanged, and existing study-room bookings remain valid. Notice how options B and C reverse those details.
What to review after a wrong answer
Mark the exact words that prove the correct answer. Then compare them with the option you chose. Was the mistake a missed exception, a changed date, or an answer that sounded plausible but was not stated? Keep a short note and try a fresh passage without looking at the explanation.
